Rabbanit Dr. Michal Tikochinsky is head of the Moshe Green Women’s Beit Midrash at Beit Morasha. She has LL.B and LL.M degrees from Bar Ilan university, and studied Talmud at Matan Institute of Talmudic Studies. She completed her doctoral studies in Talmud at Bar Ilan university. Her doctoral these considered the foundations of the scholarly style of the Minchat Chinuch. Dr. Tikochinsky spent some years as a lawyer and in educational endeavors in Israel and overseas in the Antwerp Jewish community. Since 2003, she has taught Talmud at the Women’s Beit Midrash at Beit Morasha, while also teaching at various academic and Torah institutions such as Efrata College, Migdal Oz, Shalem College, and Shaarei Mishpat College. In addition to weekly publications on the portion of the week, Dr. Tikochinsky has published many articles on Jewish scholarship, Biblical commentary, and Halakha. Some topics of her writings include: women’s ritual immersion for conversion, women’s “zimun”, concepts of modesty, ritual immersion for women with disabilities, the concept of Jewish unity, etc. In recent years she has established a forum for leaders in Jewish women’s Torah education, joined the Beit Hillel Rabbis organization, and is active in other areas of social change.
