About Rabbi Eliezer Lawrence

Rabbi Lawrence is a passionate Jewish educator and rabbinic entrepreneur who uses his various platforms to enrich identity and instill meaning in Jewish texts, language and ritual. He is an alumnus of Columbia University, learned in the Kollel of Yeshivat Ma’aleh Gilboa and received smicha from Rosh Yeshivat Ma’aleh Gilboa, HaRav David Bigman. Rabbi Lawrence holds MAs in Bible and Semitic Languages, and in Teaching Hebrew as a Second Language.

He has taught Tankah, Gemara, Yiddish and Hebrew in Jewish day school, university, yeshiva and adult educational settings, has served as scholar in residence in synagogues and gatherings across the country and has written about Halacha, language and Jewish identity for various publications including Tablet Magazine and the Jewish Link.
